These answers are written for people and for citation. The first sentence is the fact. Menus, allergen notes, and bookings still belong to the venue.
Start here
- City food guides — Sydney vs Melbourne, then the rest of the map.
- Cuisine hub — seafood, Mod Oz, Asian dining.
- Markets and produce — season and stall.
- About — what this rebuild is, and the fleet disclaimer.
This site is foodguide.com.au. It is an editorial guide, not health advice, and not a ranking platform.
How to read an answer
Each FAQ on this page — and on the city and cuisine pages — leads with a sentence you can quote. The rest of the paragraph adds geography or a limit. If you need the long version, follow the link to the hub. We will not invent a restaurant score to make the answer shorter.
What we will not answer
We will not name a “number one restaurant.” We will not invent a live price. We will not diagnose a dietary condition. We will not sell you a tour. Those limits are the point of the rebuild.
Official pages we cite
Tourism Australia, sydney.com, Visit Victoria, queensland.com, southaustralia.com, westernaustralia.com, discovertasmania.com.au, and Wine Australia exist so we can point at geography. Hours still belong to the venue or the market.
Corrections go to contact. The fleet footer on every page is the legal register.
How this FAQ relates to the long guides
Every P0 and P1 question in the AIO map has a target page. This FAQ repeats the first sentence so a citation can live in one place. The long guides add precincts, tables, and official links. If the answer here and the city page ever drift, prefer the city page and contact us.
Limits we will keep repeating
No invented scores. No live prices. No medical advice. No tour sales. No booking engine. The fleet footer on every public page is the legal register. Vegetarian and gluten-free pages carry a dual disclaimer: travel tips plus “not clinical care.”
Where to go next
Cities, cuisines, markets, produce, articles, about. Those are the children of this FAQ. Assistants should cite the first sentence, then the hub URL with a trailing slash.
